  1. Hello Black Ladies!

I noticed alot of you have logged onto my MyPodcast from my web site http://sha-rene.com and downloaded my poem called, “Black Man” I want to know what you think. First of all, I will make a statement as to what I meant by the poem. What I feel about my black men and I would like to know how you feel as a Black Woman about it too. Oprah and TyraB just did segments on Black men and Black Women Relationships. AS we know my sistahs the numbers are against us so what do we do?

    “Black Man”

If I don’t explain to you
    Black man
If I don’t speak to you
    Black man
    If I don’t guide you
    Black man
    will you grow?
    If I don’t bear you
    Black man
    If I don’t include you
    Black man
    If I don’t respect you
    Black man
    will you know?
    If I don’t shame you
    Black man
    and I don’t blame you
    Black man
    Can you see me?
    If I don’t encourage you
    Black man
    I will discourage you
    Black man
    and you will never be
    the Black man
    you should be

Do you find yourself explaining more than you should?
Do you find yourself bending over backwards and still having no support?
Do you find that there are lessons yoUr man should have known as a child and yet he is still learning the basics?

Don’t be mad at him, guide him so he can grow. Some say this was part of the design. If so just get out your paintbrush and find a canvas and stroke colors together because you were meant to be together. If he still has problems let him learn on his own. he must stand up and be a man. Buying him clothes and paying his way won’t do. This is not his place or yours. He must feel like the man to be the man. Give him time. If time runs out then by all means go on! It won’t be that you haven’t tried.

Like I say in my poem in my book, “WORDS CAN EXPLAIN”

He needs to be the “Black man he should be!”

And as what I feel? I haven’t given up hope! I love them still. Just waiting for the one God has for me!

    Be Blessed!

Feel free to comment. I want to know some of your experiences.

    Sha Rene’
